Born from an era that established the mixtape as an art form, Argy is an artist who has grown up being inspired by the remarkable evolution of Electronica. Having emerged on to the scene in 2009 he established himself as a regular player in the UK and European circuits for just about every hard dance/trance brand worth noting; Think Tomorrowland, Defqon 1, Creamfields, Gatecrasher and many more.
After developing his sound solidly over the past 10 years, Argy remains one of the most exciting names on today’s circuit. Poised above all that is average, Argy’s sound now resonates with a passion for all things techno with a distinct identity for individuality. The Master of Mash-up, there is no such thing as a typical Argy set. Fuelled by an obsession for tech-soaked beats, Argy is an artist determined to be defined by concept rather than by genre and represents a fresh sound for a new generation of crowds wowed by his immeasurable enthusiasm and outstanding technical prowess. His unique production style lays the foundation for a set entwining mashups, bootlegs and exclusive edits, combined with pinpoint accuracy, technical trickery and intelligent effects.
2018 saw Argy’s begin his trajectory to techno royalty with his summertime co-release of ‘The Funky Sound’ alongside Glaswegian producer DMCK, piercing the Beatport top 100 and gaining support from Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Sander Van Doorn and hoards more of The World’s biggest techno hard-hitters. A busy year for Argy, 2018 also saw him land a residency at sold out events from UK brand ‘High Fidelity, supporting the likes of T78 and Spektre, and releasing on top labels such as Autektone, Bubble Jam and Blue Monkey.
Since his success with his DMCK collaboration in May last year, 2019 has also been an exciting year for Argy with an influx of requested remixes, again for top techno labels Autektone, Blue Money, Dolma rec and Bubble Jam, and the majority of which have spent time comfortably in the Beatport Top 100. This list includes, but is not exhausted at, ‘Gary Burrows – I am ready (Argy UK Remix), ‘Darmec – Tribes (Argy UK Remix)’ and ‘Darmec – Warrior Funk (Argy UK Remix)’.
The Welsh wizard is keeping his cards held closely to his chest, as he works his magic on fresh techno beats to resurface later this year with new cosmic tunes to storm the 2022 techno universe. With his truly original sound spanning three decks, binding technical tricks and EFX on each individual twisting journey of audio-visual adrenaline, Argy is set to stay at the techno top spot for the foreseeable future.
